NPCAI Social Event
October 17th, 2012

NPCAI social event is the only social where all come from around the country to attend, which includes playground representatives, playground associates, playground contractors, and other affiliates of the playground industry. NPCAI invites you to become involved on our annual social. We are so excited to offer you the following opportunities.
Due to the fact that NRPA has shortened the length of the NRPA Show, NPCAI has decided to try out a new social activity during NRPA, handing out popcorn to the attendees. Sponsorship is available with an opportunity to advertise with NPCAI as noted below. Deadline for submission is September 28th, 2012. We look forward to hearing from you. Click here for form.

DOJ Posts Online Editions of its 2010 ADA Standards The Department of Justice (DOJ) has posted official editions of its new 2010 ADA standards and companion guidance on its ADA website. The new publications include provisions from DOJ’s regulations that implement the standards and set effective dates in order to bring together in one source all relevant information on using the standards in new construction and alterations. Additional design requirements that supplement the standards are also integrated into this edition. The standards are available in both HTML and PDF formats. A 170-page companion guide further explains requirements in the standards and regulations and provides commentary on specific provisions.
The 2010 standards, which can be used at this time as an alternative to the original standards, become mandatory March 15, 2012. Technical assistance on the standards is available from the Access Board at (800) 872-2253 (v), (800) 993-2822 (TTY), or

Thanks to all of our supporters and everyone who attended.

Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) Certification
The Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) program is offered by the National Certification Board in coordination with the National Park and Recreation Association. Courses are offered to individuals certified to inspect playgrounds for safety hazards and to ensure compliance with national standards set by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) and Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). A professional must successfully pass the CPSI examination to receive the 3 year certification.
The purpose of the CPSI certification is for those certified to be able to; identify hazards on public playground equipment and the playground; rank the hazards according to injury potential; and apply the knowledge to remove the hazards and establish a system of inspections and maintenance.

NPCAI is making Aflac’s accident and cancer insurance policies available to our members. Aflac offers a distinct type of protection. Unlike major medical health insurance, Aflac pays you (unless otherwise assigned) not the doctor or hospital. You control the cash benefits and spend them as you like to help with financial challenges an accident or illness could have to your standard of living. Give them a call today to offer additional savings just by being a member with NPCAI.
